THE MYSTERIOUS MAJESTIC OF GUNUNG PADANG (The Megalithic Site)

Gunung Padang or mount Padang is a giant pyramidal megalithic site lies on a hilltop. The site consists of 5 terraces that form a pyramid with an elevation of 885 meters above sea level on its base. Its peak has an elevation of about 989m. According to researches, Gunung Padang site is one of the oldest and the biggest pyramids in the world.

The largest megalithic site in West Java, located approximately 3,5 hours from Jakarta. Driving through the picturesque local villages and tea plantation as well as beautiful landscape of rice fields.

The oldest construction of the pyramid likely “originated as a natural lava hill before being sculpted and then architecturally enveloped” between 25,000BC and 14,000BC, according to the team. This makes Gunung Padang at least 16,000 years old.

Lampegan Station (LP) is a class III railway station located in Cimenteng, Campaka, Cianjur Regency. The station, which is located at an altitude of +439 m, is included in the Operational Area II Bandung and is a railway station located in the westernmost part of Cianjur Regency.
